NYS’s sexual harassment mandates have put a spotlight on overall harassment policies and practices for nonprofits and most nonprofits have incorporated policies and procedures in their personnel manuals, but these do not cover what to do allegation concern board officers or directors(s). Harassment policies and procedures need to cover allegations involving board members with employees (including the executive director), volunteers, other board members, and independent contractors or vendors. This session will discuss the scenario’s that can arise and the policies and practices that your organization can proactively adopt to prevent and respond such situations.
