There is never a shortage of employment law changes in New York, and with the Trump administration seeking to unwind many of the Obama-era laws that expanded protections for employees, many employers are confused about their legal obligations to employees. This session will review the proposed changes to the federal overtime rules and the impact of such changes on nonprofit organizations’ compensation systems, the new State requirements for accommodating transgender employees in the workplace, employers’ obligations to employees who are affected by the opioid crisis, the new election law and voting time leave rules, and the changes to workplace conduct standards.
